She was born on March 5, 1947 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late John Francis and Helen {Reid} Handley. Mary Sue grew up in Pomeroy, Ohio, where she attended Pomeroy High School. She graduated from Ohio University, with a degree in Education. Mary Sue went on to get her Master’s Degree in Library Science at Kent State University, while working and raising her children. She worked as a high school English Teacher at Minerva High School in Minerva, Ohio. Mary Sue retired as a Librarian from the Lane Public Library in Fairfield, Ohio. She enjoyed any game, whether it be a board game, trivia, or something physical, like tennis, darts, or golf. Mary Sue looked forward to playing golf twice a week, in her later years with the girls, at Walden Ponds and Weather Wax. She liked to paint, travel, read, and shop in her spare time. Mary Sue loved flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband Ron of 20 years; children Matt (Adrienne Roach) Michael and Beth (Micah) Poremba; grandchildren Will Michael and Lake Poremba; sister Margaret Jurado; extended family Angie (Ryan) Parker, Caity Peters, and her son Evan, Larry (Shelly) Peters, and Beth Peters. Mary Sue was preceded in death by her siblings Jack and Carol Handley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10am at the Redeemer Church, 3431 Hamilton Middletown Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011. Interment to follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
