Age 86, of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Monday, January 23, 2017. He was born on March 22, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Albert L. and Margaret A. (Edgerley) Green. Larry served as Class President and graduated from Dayton Kiser High School in 1948, then furthered his education at Ohio Wesleyan University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, graduating in 1952. After college he served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. On April 14, 1956 in Hamilton, Larry married Betty Lincks, who preceded him in death on August 29, 2015. He was employed as an underwriting supervisor at Ohio Casualty Insurance for 37 ½ years before retiring, and was instrumental in the founding of the Ohio Casualty Employees Credit Union, serving for many years as its President. He attended Grace United Methodist Church. Larry was an accomplished artist and avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his talents and harvests with family and friends and was a good neighbor to all. Larry also played softball for Ocasco for many years, coached Babe Ruth baseball, volunteered at Grace United Methodist Church, and enjoyed the camaraderie of his Friday morning breakfast group. Larry’s family would like to express their gratitude to Ft. Hamilton Hospital, in particular the caring staff of 5 Main. He is survived by his children John (Pam) Green, Shelly Green and Jim (Judy) Green; grandchildren Sara (Brian) Hazelton, Austin Green and Shelby Green. He was also preceded in death by his brother Carl E. Green. Visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm on Friday January 27, 2017 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Funeral Service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park.
