He was born on November 28, 1948 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late Dallas Waters and Gladys {Milburn} Workman. Gary graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1966. He married Karen Hunt in 1972 and they raised two daughter together. Gary worked at Air Products and Chemicals for 24 years, before retiring in 1997. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and watching all type of sports. Gary was a proud member of the United States Navy where he served time overseas. He is survived by his wife Karen Waters. Two daughters Kelley (Paul) Eversole and Kerri (Jason) Kelly. Six grandchildren Max Kelly, Ernie Eversole, Owain Kelly, Emmitt Eversole, Elyse Eversole, and Addison Kelly. Two brothers Denny Waters and Emory Workman and sister Sharon (Gary) Helton. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robbie Workman and stepfather Emory (Honkey) Workman. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20th, 2020 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Crossroads Hospice or American Cancer Society in honor of his grandson and late father-in-law.
