Smith, Winnifred (Winnie)
Winnifred Smith, wife of the late Hugh R. Smith passed away on October 11, 2024 at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home at the beautiful age of 101.
Winnifred was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon.
She is survived by her son Clifford and daughter-in-law Marsha along with her six grandchildren, Troy, Trevor, Tasha, Philly, Adam and Clayton; nine great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Winnifred was a graduate of Mount Allison Business College in Sackville, NB. After coming to Sydney Mines she worked in the office of Thompson and Sutherland, Sydney Mines, the Herald Print in North Sydney and later she worked with her husband Hugh in Smith’s Jewellery Store until they retired.
Winnifred was a member of Clyde Avenue Baptist Church, a member of the choir, president of ABW and a member of the Ladies Guild.
There will be no visitation by request. A private burial will take place at later date.
