Bill was born July 24, 1926 in Tuxford Saskatchewan and was raised by Girvan and Elizabeth Roy (Gray) Fraser and aunt Alice Culton. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by brothers William and Gerald in infancy and by brother Girvan and sister Norma Fulmer. His beloved wife Sheila (O’Driscoll) passed in 2013. Surviving are sister-in-law Shirley Greensheilds, nieces Claire Fraser and Ellen Fraser (Paul Loiselle), nephews Eric Fraser (Sandra McGoldrick) and Greg Fraser (Mo Ying Chan), grandnieces Vanessa Fraser and Audrey Hurd, Kert Fulmer (Maria Mancini-Fulmer) and Terry Fulmer (Margaret Grant) and their families, and cousin Melody Spraker Dahl Gabriel.
Bill attended school in Stellarton and college in Toronto. He worked for the Province of Nova Scotia in the Department of Education (school grants) for most of his career. He retired in 1991.
Upon his retirement, Bill and Sheila travelled, notably making frequent trips to Barbados, their personal happy place.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Thursday February 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm, Rev. Kevin Little officiating.
No flowers by request. Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to a charity of your choice.
