Walter William Murphy

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Walter (Papa, Granddad) Murphy on October 24,2023.

Born on May 28,1927 to Harry and Annie (Wells) Murphy. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Turk, Victor and sister Meta Miles. He is survived by his loving wife Janette of 38 years. Children, Greg, Wayne, Bradly & Krista Canfield(Ron) all of Edmonton. Stepchildren Claudette Odrowski(David) Halifax, Monique Hughes(Steve) Fredericton, Debbie Fougere(Wesley) Halifax, Claude Roussel(Jennifer) Halifax and Joanne Wegener of San Diego. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Walter was a proud veteran he served with the Military in the Signal Core from 1950 to 1975 and after retirement he moved on to work with DND at the tool crib from 1975 to 1990. He loved to travel south and loved the sun. Watching Question period the liars club as he called it was great entertainment to him. Loved the Leafs despite their inability to win a cup since 1967. He was also an avid stamp and coin collector. Then there is Archie his budgie bird whom he always enjoyed breakfast with, company while shaving and just having long chats with. Upon his wishes, cremation has taken place and a small family gathering to remember and reminisce has taken place.
