It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt. Susan Frances Bone (63) passed away peacefully at home, after a courageous battle against brain cancer.
Sue passed on the morning of August 25, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax on June 7, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace (Rhodenizer) Eisan.
Susan enjoyed a wonderful career with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for 32 years, in which her colleagues will remember her fondly as a dedicated employee, who loved to joke around and have fun. In retirement, Susan was employed on a part-time basis with DFO as well as with Elections Nova Scotia.
As soon as Sue walked into any room, she would make her presence known with her hilarious personality, contagious laughter, dance moves, and just being her crazy self. Sue definitely moved to the beat of her own drum and she even spoke her own language of made up words. Sue lived life to the fullest and, like her Mother, she was a no-nonsense kind of woman and had no issue whatsoever with speaking her mind. She was forthright in expressing her own opinion, regardless of the topic.
Family was Sue’s top priority; she was selfless and always thought of others before herself. She had a very generous nature and was the first to help anyone in need. Her family and friends will fondly remember her quick wit and her bubbly personality. Sue truly enjoyed entertaining and was always the first to open her home, without hesitation to anyone. Most importantly, Sue was a kind woman and this especially applied to the extraordinary care she provided to her aging parents. She devoted countless hours to her mother and father without an ounce of complaint; this will always be appreciated and remembered by her siblings.
She had wonderful energy and a beautiful spirit, and she fought her illness with strength and determination. No matter how hard the battle was, Sue kept her positive attitude until the very end. Without question, her loss will leave a massive void in the lives she shared with her family and friends. Sue was taken from us much too early and our grief is overwhelming; leaving us devastated by her loss. She was truly an angel sent to walk among us and sadly, she was given back her wings allowing her to watch over us among the stars.
Susan is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ronald (Lower Sackville, NS); daughters Sara-Louise (David) Marceau (Greenwood, NS), Kathryn Lea “Katie” (Lower Sackville, NS). Sister, Deborah Eisan (Edmonton, AB); brothers, Timothy Eisan (Patricia Wright) and Darryl C. Eisan (Jennifer Hann) both of Halifax, NS. Nephews, Chadwick and Aidan Eisan. Nieces, Jillian and Jessie Eisan, and one great niece, Jazelle Cameron, all of Halifax, NS.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28 at J. A. Snow Funeral Home (339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax) from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 11 am at Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata Parish, 6032 Normandy Drive (corner of Robie Street and Normandy Drive, Halifax). Father Andrew Rembarczyk celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brain Cancer Research or a charity of choice.
