Ruth Irene Fleming

Born in Antigonish, NS on Dec 10, 1932, daughter of the late Harriet and Arthur Stearns, Ruth is survived by her long time partner of 37 years, Paul Connors, her three loving sisters, Bertha Harris (Ian) of Okotoks, AB, Fran Stearns and Ella Stearns, both of Halifax, NS. Also her nieces and nephews Jacquie Ruigrok (Nick) of Okotoks, AB, Pastor Gerald Stearns (Pat) of New Glasgow, NS, Debra Meldrum (Gary) of Lower Sackville, NS, Bonnie Weatherby (Gary) of Truro, NS, Glenn Stearns (Jennifer) of Lower Sackville, NS, Gary Stearns (Jamie) of Lower Sackville, NS, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Ruth will also be missed dearly by her extended family, Bernard Connors (Kathy) of Fredericton, NB, Lisa Bower (Ron) of Shelburne, NS, and Karen Connors of Australia.

Along with her parents, Ruth is predeceased by her husband Gerald Fleming, brother Charles and niece Brenda.

Ruth was a long time employee of Simpsons and The Bay. One of her greatest passions was spending time tending to both her vegetable and flower gardens. She spent many hours doing needlepoint and found great pleasure traveling the world with her best friend, Paul.

A memorial service for Ruth will be held on Thursday May 12, 2016 at 11am from J.A. Funeral Home. Ruth will be laid to rest in the North Lochaber Cemetery on Friday May 13, 2016 at 2pm.

Always loved, never forgotten, forever missed.
