On Sunday October 8, 2023 Ronald James McNair, son of John and Margaret, went to fly with the angels, after saying his final goodbyes surrounded by family and plenty of love. Ronnie will be sorely missed by his beautiful and devoted wife, Judy of 64 years. The two demonstrated the epitome of true love and adoration and a bond that is unparalleled.
Dad built an exceptional life for us and taught us many lessons along the way. He will be greatly missed by each of his children Selena (Jimmy), Peter (Diane), Phillip and April (John).
Ronnie’s memory will forever live in the heart of his big (yet little) sister, Jean who he shared a special bond with and sister in law Joyce.
‘Grandad’ played a very special role in his grandchildrens’ lives, and was an outstanding role model to Amanda (Bobby), Deanna, Brian, Jordan, Ryan, Josh, Rhiannon, Kayla, Ben, Jamie and Joel. Many of which lived with he and Grammy at one point or another. Also leaving a mark on his great grandchildren Shane, Carter, Charlotte and Sienna. Grandad knew how much he was loved by his grandchildren and we all feel so lucky to have had him in our lives.
Ronnie played the part as the best big brother to his sister in laws Ruth, Elizabeth (Eugene), Leola, and Alberta and they will all miss him dearly.
Ronnie was a plumber by trade and he was the best in the biz, with an astonishing 62 years under his belt. He was highly respected and established lifelong friendships with customers, partners and others in the industry. He was passionate and worked hard each and everyday. He didn’t put down the wrench until he was well into his late 70s. Even into retirement, it brought him great pride and joy to help out his family with jobs around the house and teach them the ropes.
In addition to his dedicated work ethic we celebrate a life filled with an extraordinary array of musical talents. His gift for music was a source of joy and inspiration for all who had the privilege of hearing him. In his younger years he played in a band, with his nimble fingers dancing effortlessly across the strings of the guitar. He was also gifted at playing the piano, harmonica, banjo, and mandolin, weaving melodies that transported us to another world. Through his musical abilities, he left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to listen. His legacy as a multi-talented musician will forever be cherished in our memories.
Ready to greet him at heavens gate are parents John and Margaret; brothers Jackie (Kay), Tommy, Stephen, Patrick (Peggy who died only hours after Ronnie); brother in law Bobby; and a sister, Selena. He will also be joyfully reunited with his faithful canine companion, Mandy, a cherished four-legged little girl who left us before him. Mandy brought immeasurable joy and warmth to Judy and Ronnie's lives, and they were heartbroken when they had to say goodbye in June of this year.
Ronnie had a presence that drew you in. Not only people, but he had a way with animals. He was well loved by all of the furry companions in his life. They were always eager to jump on grandads lap for a cuddle and some pats. He was a true gentlemen and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a sharp wit and a lively sense of humour. He was always ready with a joke and a laugh, right up until the end. He was truly an amazing man who left his mark on everyone in his life. His legacy will live on through those whose lives he touched, for generations to come.
Forever in our Hearts ❤️
