On August 2, 2020, at the age of 48, Corporal Robert David Daniel passed away peacefully in his wife's arms after a courageous battle with gastric cancer. Rob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lisa Daniel, and his beautiful daughter Sophia Daniel. Rob is survived by his mother, Youmna Daniel (predeceased by his father, Joseph Daniel); his siblings Elvira (Jean) Alphonce, Tony (Raiza) Daniel, and Eddie (Krista) Daniel; along with a loving family of aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and cousins.
Rob was very proud of his important role as a protector of the Halifax community. Rob was a dedicated member of the RCMP for the past 20 years on the Division Training Section, as well as being the NCO of the Special Tactical Operations team. Rob was also one of the most highly regarded Use Of Force instructors who was recognized nationally and internationally for his expertise in tactical training and use of force. Rob was dedicated and passionate for training, with his ultimate goal of ensuring that all members of the law enforcement community always safely returned home to their families. In recognition of Rob’s business success and his contributions to the business community, in 2017, Rob was honored by the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce as the Lebanese Professional of the Year.
As a liaison officer in Windsor and the Millwood High family of schools, Rob also made a profound impact on the lives of students. As a former football player for Halifax West High School and St. Mary's University, he jumped at the chance to coach students and instill his passion for the game. Rob cherished his time with the students knowing that he had positively influenced their lives.
Rob will be remembered for his charismatic and light-hearted manner, his outstanding courage, his presence and smile that would light up any room, and most especially, for his eternal love for his wife and daughter. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the great fortune of meeting him. You’ve left us far too soon, Rob, and you will not be forgotten.
