Age 84, of Armdale, passed away September 13, 2017 at Oceanview Continuing Care, Dartmouth, surrounded by his loving wife and family by his side.
Frank (Bud) was born on July 18, 1933 in Halifax. He was the son of the late Richard McGrath and Veronica (Shields) McGrath.
Frank was a long time employee with the Department of Health, as a Public Health Inspector until his retirement. He was an avid golfer at Brightwood Golf Club in Dartmouth and enjoyed hunting and fishing immensely and a good game of snooker at the Windsor Park Mess. He was a faithful parishioner at St. John the Baptist Parish on the Purcell’s Cove Road. He often led the Divine Mercy, served on Alter, took up collection and other duties as needed.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Yvonne Mary McGrath (Aucoin); daughters Debbie (Darryle), Susan (Carl); grandchildren, Krista, Leanne, Jenna and Shawn, great grandchild, Cobi.

Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Wednesday September 20, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral mass will be held in St. John the Baptist Parish, 26 Purcell’s Cove Rd, Thursday September 21, at 10 a.m. with reception to follow. Father Paul Morris officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s society or charity of one’s choice.
