As the funeral finally arrives, we feel it is for everyone else because we have already spent so many years grieving and honouring the memory of our mother during her long journey with Alzheimer disease. Norma Almira Janette Mitchell (Noftle) 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday Nov 10 2018. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Eli & Mary (Publicover) Noftle. She is survived by her two brothers, Otto (Lorraine) and Eric (Eva deceased), sons Dale (Donna), Gary (Kim) and daughters Janet Skiba, Heather Horodyski (Robert) and Karen Fitzgerald, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Malcolm Mitchell, and sons-in-law Hugh Fitzgerald and Bruce Skiba. Mom was a great knitter, always having a project on the go for family, friends or the church. She was an avid bowler for over 50 years and a huge hockey and baseball fan, never missing a Blue Jays game. We are comforted in knowing that she now knows who she is again.
