Passed away peacefully at home following a nearly 5 year battle with ALS. He was born to the late Halley and Jean Mosher, St. Croix, Hants County. Survived by his life partner, Georgina “Gena” Hemsworth; sons, Barry, Glen (Dale) and Bruce (Natalie Aisthorpe) and their mother, Donalda “Donna” Mosher; grandchildren, Joseph "Joe" (Melissa), Nicole (Tarek El-Bitar), Emily, Kyle, Holly; great grandchildren, Jonah and Isaiah Mosher, and Noor El-Bitar. Also survived by his sisters, Joan Gibson, Newport Station, Myrna (Roger LeBlanc), Halifax; brothers, Victor (Linda Forsyth), St. Croix, Glen (Eleanor), Halifax; sister-in-law, Marion, Ellershouse, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Roger. Neil was a carpenter by trade, and served 32 years with the Halifax Fire Department, most recently as a Lieutenant in Fire Prevention, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, VIMY 27. He was an avid hockey fan of the Montreal Canadians and Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 3, from 7-9 pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531). Service will be in the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, at 11:00 am.
