She is survived by husband James MacKay, daughter Susan Bartlett, step-daughter Jennifer MacKay and stepson Trevor MacKay, and brothers Caleb, Bert, Carl, Rick, Wilfred. She is predeceased by son Steven Anthony.
Nancy enjoyed being "Nana" to her seven grandchildren and had recently welcomed a great grandchild to the family. Nancy loved the challenges of working with children in a learning environment and taught youth for 18 years in the metro school system. She was a strong supporter of Resource and Reading Recovery programs.
Upon her retirement, Nancy moved to Chandler's Cove condos and became closely involved with church initiatives, condo community functions, quilting, and supporting children's programs at the Chester Playhouse.
Nancy also loved music and dancing and studied piano, where she achieved a level six credential in piano. Nancy was an accomplished Scottish Country Dancer, and enjoyed dancing the jig when a fiddle was played.
She also loved traveling, and traveled extensively with husband James.
Nancy was devoted to her family and to her community, and will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
There will be a celebration of Nancy's life/reception to be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 2-4pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax, NS.

Donations may be made in Nancy's honour to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or charity of choice.
