Pearson, Maurice Stanley "Moe" - 84, passed away Friday, January 19th, 2018, at the QE II Halifax Infirmary. He was born August 18, 1933, in Newton-le-Willows, England, to Norman and May (Singleton) Pearson.
Moe is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, his loving wife, Elsie Pearson (Riggs) Halifax; devoted daughter, Shirley (Wayne Wood), Halifax; brother, Neville Pearson, (Irene) Moncton. Moe was predeceased by sister, Joyce Allison.
Moe joined the British Army in the R.E.M.E. Corps in 1951 serving in the Korean War and in Egypt.
In 1960, Moe wed his lovely wife Elsie in St. Peters Church in Parr, St. Helens, England. Moe and Elsie along with daughter Shirley immigrated to Canada in 1965 landing at Pier 21 in Halifax. Moe and Elsie celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2010 and February 2018 will have marked their 58th year of happiness together.
In Canada, Moe was a tour bus driver for many years and travelled extensively. He was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 142.
A Celebration of Life with legion service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS, on Wednesday, January 24th at 12:00 p.m. A catered lunch will follow in the hall at the Royal Canadian Legion, 50 Hillcrest Street, Fairview, at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join in to celebrate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 142.
