It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marion Morrison, age 92, of Timberlea, NS, on December 15, 2017 at the QE II Health Science Centre in Halifax. Marion was born in Glenwood, PEI, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (MacIntyre) MacIsaac.
Although family always came first in her life, she enjoyed a successful teaching career, in both PEI and Timberlea. She took pride in remembering the names of her students, and enjoyed meeting their children and grandchildren. She truly was the matriarch of our family, and Nanny’s Place was always the focal point of our family gatherings.
Mom and Dad started their family in Bayside PEI, and moved to Halifax in 1957. They never forgot their roots on the Island. We often remember them filling the car with kids and setting off to visit family and friends for a few days.
Surviving are sons Al (Bev) of Saint John NB, David (Timberlea), Eric (Catherine) Halifax, Reg (Lynda) of Timberlea and Doug (Ann Marie) of Lakeside; daughters Greta (Doug) Fillier of Truro, Ethel (Timberlea) and Lynne (Rob deceased) Brown of Timberlea; sisters Ethel Smith (Mississauga, ON) and Gena Russell (Clyde River, PEI); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marion was pre-deceased by her husband Lorne, their sons Charlie, Carman and Owen, her brothers Ron and Ivan, daughter-in-law Mildred and son-in-law Rob.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 20 at St Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 20 Scholars Rd., Upper Tantallon, NS.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St Marguerite Bourgeoys St Vincent de Paul Society or charity of your choice would be welcome.
