She was born in Halifax on December 4, 1927 to John William and Olive Minerva (Williams) Hubley and lived in Halifax, then Lower Sackville and finally Bedford. She was predeceased by her husband John Maynard McLearn in 1985, sisters, Elsie (Francis) Guptill and Mildred (James) Couse. She will be remembered lovingly by her daughters, Nancy (Robert) Kinsman and Cathy (Gary) McCormick; grandchildren, Jeff (Amanda) Kinsman, Greg McCormick (Jen), Julia Kinsman and Neil (Megan) McCormick, as well as several nephews and great grandchildren.
Marie had a very strong will, conquering many illnesses over the years. She was a loving, considerate, generous soul who always put her family first. She worked for many years at Simpson’s and then The Bay in Halifax, where she made many lifelong friends. She and John enjoyed their trips to Florida and also loved spending time at Sherwood Forest in Coldbrook, NS at their trailer, which was their pride and joy. She loved nothing more than to have her family and friends around her spending time at her backyard pool. She also cherished the friendships she made at Watermill Ridge in Bedford. Over the years, Marie enjoyed several bus trips with her good friend, Kay Forbes.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will take place at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Thanks to staff at Fiddler’s Cove, Ivany Place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Snow’s Funeral Home, Halifax.
