Survived by her loving husband David of 57 years; daughters, Nancy (Larry) Mayo of Calgary; Janet (Ronald) Beer of St. John’s; and Colleen (Patrick) Gehue of St. John’s; sons, Richard, of St. John’s, and Bruce (Joelle) of Parry Sound Ont; Grandchildren, Jordan, Loren and Jeffrey Mayo; Matthew, Daniel, Thomas and Patrick Beer; Michael, Maria, Rachel and Caroline Gehue; Benjamin, Julia and Cameron Fox; brothers, Rev. Fr. Jack Hall of S.J. Toronto, and Hon. Justice Robert Hall of St. John’s; sisters-in-law, Sheila Ryan of St. John’s and Jean Hall of St.John’s; and brother-in-law Cyril James Fox of St. John’s; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by her son Jeffrey David of St. John’s – Dec. 2, 1961, granddaughter Kathleen “Katie” Beer of St. John’s – July 3, 1995, and brother David E. Hall of Halifax – 2008.
Educated at St.Thomas Aquinas School, St. Patrick's High School and Halifax Infirmary Hospital in Radiology Technology in 1957 and then worked in medical X-Ray Department, Medical Arts in Halifax until marriage and moved to St. John’s.
In keeping with Madeline’s wishes, cremation has taken place prior to visitation.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 6-8 pm and Thursday, June 9 from 2 -4 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral Mass to be held in Saint Benedict Parish Church, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax, on Friday, June 10 at 2 pm, with a private family interment to follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke foundation and/or The Lung Association or a charity of one’s choice.
