CHADDOCK, Lionel Wayne, AACI, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2013, at home, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Halifax on March 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Horatio and Gertrude (DeLouche) Chaddock.
He was a lifetime resident of Halifax and received his early education at Tower Road School, Gorsebrook School, and Queen Elizabeth High School. Later on in life he earned his designation as an Accredited Appraiser in the Appraisal Institute of Canada. He was employed with the Province of Nova Scotia for 10 years with the Department of Highways. He worked for Pat King Real Estate for a brief period of time and was then employed by the Federal Department of Public Works and Government Services, for 20 years, retiring as the Manager of the Appraisal Program, Real Estate Services.
Lionel was very interested in sports, he loved hockey and football games and enjoyed curling but his most favourite sport was golf. He was a former member of Oakfield Golf and Country Club and most recently was a member of KenWo Golf and Country Club in New Minas. He and Kathy spent many happy golfing holidays with good friends over the years. He also enjoyed long walks in Point Pleasant Park and was an avid reader.
Lionel was a lifetime member of The Cathedral Church of all Saints and was very active in church activities.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Moser), sisters Geraldine Chaddock Sherwood (late Melvin Sherwood), Ruth Sherwood (Fred) , brothers Raymond (Velda), and Reginald (Carol-Ann) and brothers-in-law, John Walter and Wayne Moser (Helen), cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers John (Mary), Harold, Edward (Claire) Clyde, Gerald, Ivan (Lillian). Sisters Gwendolyn (at birth) Beverly Ring (Victor), and Joyce Walter.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of J.A. Snow funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, B3S0E1 (455-0531).
Visitation will be held at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Martello St. on March 22, 2013, from 6-8pm. A celebration of his life will be held at the Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Martello St. on March 23, 2013 at 11am, with the Very Reverend Paul Smith and the Reverend DR. Helen Ryding officiating.

Horton and Devon Hennigar and the Palliative Care Team, Continuing Care, the VON nurses, caregivers, and the chemo nurses on 11 Victoria at the VG for their care and compassion.
