Kathleen 'Kathy' Preston

Born in Halifax she was the daughter of Geraldine and Arthur Parsons, and the beloved wife of David.

Kathy spent her early childhood years in downtown Halifax and moved to Bedford with her family where she attended Junior High and High School. Following high school she graduated from Maritime Secretarial School, Halifax as a secretary on June 22, 1972. Upon graduation she was employed by MT&T and then joined the Federal Civil Service, first at Halifax Dockyard (where she met her husband) , then with Canada Revenue Agency until her retirement in 2007. Kathy and David Preston were married in 1978 and lived in Halifax together for 34 years. Upon retirement Kathy loved to spend time with friends and family and her beloved Cavalier Spaniel, Jaxie-Belle. Kathy and David enjoyed travelling and Kathy loved nothing more than making her house and garden beautiful.

She is survived by her husband David, brother Frank Parsons, and mother Geraldine Parsons.

She was predeceased by her father Arthur Parsons.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00pm in St. Paul’s Church (Grand Parade) Halifax, with Dr. Rev. P. Freisen officiating. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax.
