Karen Joan Fry

Karen was the daughter of Caroline H. Phillips and the late Dr. H Ralph Phillips. Survived by her husband, Stephen Fry; son, Christopher (Maddalena) Fry, Calgary; daughter, Catherine (Evan) Paterson, Calgary; Victoria Fry (Jonathan Hill), Sydney, Australia; twin sister, Sharon (Jim) Davis, Bridgewater; brother, William (Shirley) Phillips; grandchildren, Haley McCulley, Jacob, Oliver Fry; Alexander, Daniel, Anna Paterson. Several nieces and nephews.

Karen was President of the Halifax Ladies’ College Alumni for many years. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s University, (BA) and Queens University (B. Ed). Karen taught elementary school until she started her family. She was recently retired from Capital Health District Association, where she was employed for ten years.

Karen was passionate about life. She loved travelling, art, gardening, walking, just being outside in the sunshine. Karen loved her family above all else. Karen was a loyal and trusted friend. Karen loved life entirely. She loved a good laugh and family and friend parties.

Many heartfelt thanks to the staff and physicians of 8A and ICU. Your support and caring was so very valuable. Karen will be greatly missed. She left such an imprint on all our lives. We will miss your beautiful smile.

No visitation. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home , 339 Lacewood Drive. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated.
