Janet Ann Brown

Brown, Janet Ann (Campbell) – of Halifax, Nova Scotia, died February 10th, 2013. She is predeceased by her husband Richard Frank Brown, and survived by sons David, Kevin, Robert and Alan and granddaughters Kirsten, Hana, Christina and Rose.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the only child of the late Elliot Stirling Campbell and the late Dorothy Jane Campbell (MacDonald). Janet graduated from the Victoria General Hospital School Of Nursing, Halifax, as a Registered Nurse in 1959. Married that same year, she began a career as a homemaker, devoted wife and mother of four boys.

Janet had a passion for crewel embroidery, earning her Master Craftsman designation from the Embroiderers Guild of America in 1995. She produced some 300 works in her lifetime, many of original design.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (902) 455-0531. Memorial service to follow at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14th, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
