STONE, Helen Rita "Wendy"— 73, of Halifax, passed away June 2, 2010, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. She was a daughter of the late John and Jessie (Slaunwhite) Stone. Helen spent most of her working career as a civil servant with the Province of Nova Scotia retiring from the Department of Education - Research Division. All during her working career and throughout her retirement until her death Helen devoted herself to her family and friends. She constantly concerned herself about their well-being and her good-hearted nature was valued by anyone that knew her. She was known for her dry sense of humor and could lighten up even our most difficult days. Helen would welcome all with open arms to her home and was so thankful for all the support and kindness she received from her neighbours and close relatives at the Big House. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. Helen is survived by sister, Dorothy Lutley; nieces, Helen (Joe) Lewin, Judy (John O'Reilly) Lutley; nephews, Christopher (Marie Lutely) Lutley, Stephen (Lynn Fram) Lutley; great nephews and nieces, Craig (Amy) MacLaren, Tyler (Kim) MacLaren, Danièle Pilon, Mark Lutley, Christopher Lutley, Patrick Lutley; great great niece and nephews, Julia Lutley, Jacob and Colton MacLaren. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, Father Lloyd O'Neill officiating. Interment to follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
