Age 89, of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of the VG Site, QEII on March 25, 2020. Born in Halifax May 15, 1930, he was a son of Wallace and Adelaide (Byrnes) Harding. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean (Young); devoted son, Paul (Valma); daughter, Susan Glode (Con); grandson, Matthew Harding (Daria); granddaughter, Tracy Ryan (Chris); sister, Shirley MacKinnon (Brent); one niece and nine nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Murray and Jimmy. Gordon started in the Grocery industry with the former Dominion stores and moved on to work for Boland's IGA for many years, after retirement he worked part-time at Century 21 and Home Depot. Gordon had a passion for the game of Golf and was a member of the Brightwood Golf and Country Club for many years. He loved to get out to play golf with his son and grandson and also watching his grandson play hockey and baseball. Jean and Gordon spent many winters in Florida, they always had a love for RV-ing, when at home his time was spent landscaping and doing carpentry work. Special thanks to all the nurses and staff on 7A at the VG Site Palliative Care Unit and especially to Claire Morton for her compassion.
