Frederick A. Hunt

Hunt, Frederick Arthur, age 87, Halifax, Born in Sommerville, Massachusetts. It is with great sadness our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away August 1, 2013 in the QEII hospital. He was the oldest son of the late Bernard and Caroline Bennett (Hunt) and a WWII veteran serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force and worked for the city of Halifax for 35 years. Fred in his younger years enjoyed bowling, woodworking, gardening and loved reading and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Fred is survived by his wife of 62 years Betty Hunt; son Larry (Denise) Hunt; daughters Beverley (Michael) Devlin, Theresa (Stephen) English, grandchildren Michael Devlin Jr., Melissa (Lance) Devlin, Shawn (Beth) Hunt, Olivia English, Anna English, great-granddaughter Martha Hunt. Special sisters Katherine Vincent, Edith Flynn; brothers Richard, Walter, Peter. He was predeceased by sister Betty Chisholm, brothers Kenny, David and James. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS B3S 0E1, on Monday, August 5 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services to be held in St Benedicts on Tuesday, August 6 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
