Fay graduated from Edgehill School for Girls, also Acadia University with a BSc in Home Economics and completed her dietetic internship at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.
After her marriage in 1948, she moved with her husband to Perth-Andover, NB, where she became involved in the community. She was a member and former president of AVCC Ladies Golf Division where she was more than once Ladies Club Champion, a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #36, charter member of Perth-Andover Curling Club and Former President of Ladies Section, former president and honourary member of Round Table Literary Club, former chair of Perth-Andover Public Library, involved in Girl Guides and Boy Scouts, board director of Perth-Andover Meals On Wheels, a member of Trinity Anglican Church and ACW. After moving to Bedford in 1994, she was a member of the Waegwoltic Club, 14th Palette Art Club and St. Peter’s Anglican Church.
Fay was an accomplished artist whose work is in private collections throughout the Maritimes and as far away as Africa.
Fay’s kind nature, loving smile, and healing hand have made her a treasured family member and friend to many.
She is survived by a daughter, Celia (Brian) Charlton of Hammonds Plains, NS; son, Mark (Martha) Johnson of Perth-Andover, NB; brothers, Norman, Warren and Paul Tregunno; grandchildren, Laura and Andrew Charlton; Emma and Luke Johnson; 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband, Verdell C. Johnson; son, Daniel Johnson; sister, Marian (Tregunno) Gordon.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 3 Dakin Drive, on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 2 PM, the Rev. Leonard Bedner officiating. Reception to follow at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
