Age 92, Halifax, passed away peacefully in the QEII Health Sciences Centre on May 9, 2021 with his children at his side. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Willis and Sarah (Kelly) Cooper who immigrated to Halifax from Ireland’s Eye, N.L. in 1921. He is survived by his loving children; son, Steven (Johanna), Halifax; and daughter, Debra (John), Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Velva; brothers Lindsay, Oliver; sister Marion Barber; sisters-in-law Muriel, Madeline; and brother-in-law George Barber. The family would like to thank the staff of the QEII hospital in Halifax for the exceptional care that he received while there. Due to COVID health protocols, there will be no visitation and no service at this time. Interment will be in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope for Wildlife, the QEII Health Centre Foundation, or any other charity of your choice.
