Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Edgar C. Davidson and Annie Atwell. Known for her work rearing many foster children over the years, she was also active with many church activities and events as well as charitable organizations. She was a very kind, generous and giving person sacrificing her own needs and self for others. She is survived by daughters, Charlene Naugler, Alberta; Nancy McCarthy, Bridgewater; Carolyn Baker, Halifax; Tammy Baker, Bridgewater; sons, Donald Manthorne, Liverpool; Gilbert Manthorne, Sackville; David Manthorne, Lionel Baker, Halifax; Daniel Baker; six sisters and two brothers; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Lionel Baker; brothers, Vincent Davidson and Allen Davidson. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Service 10 a.m. Friday in Calvary Tabernacle Church, 20 Gesner St. (facing Central Avenue), Rev. Tony Gratto officiating. Burial service Friday in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery. Family and close friends please. In lieu of flowers, donatons can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
