Duggan, Edward, age 63 of Prospect Bay passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at home. Born in East Dover, he was the son of Paul and Marjorie Duggan. Edward was a multi-generational fisherman and active member of Local Union 56. Always a hard worker, Edward found joy in telling stories and jokes over a cup of tea in the kitchens of his close friends and family. Stubborn and often strong-willed, he respected those who shared his work ethic and devotion to family. But above all, Edward was a proud father and grandfather. He took great satisfaction in delivering lobster to those in the community, especially if it was unexpected. From the time he was born, Edward shared a love and respect for the sea, a place where he felt most at home. Now at rest with God and those before him, Edward can finally take a day off. Home is the sailor, home from the sea. He is survived by his wife Wilma(MacInnis), sons Sean(Lauren) and Mark(Angela), sisters Anne(Lloyd Place), Paula(Harold Yanch), Susan Duggan, Kathleen(Curt Gormley), and Patrice Duggan(Gordon Totten), brother Bryce(Penny Duggan), and grandchildren, Cameron, Brennan, Jameson and August. He was predeceased by sister Rosemary Duggan, brother-in-law Jim Legere and sister-in-law Vivian MacInnis. Visitation will be held in JA Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx B3S 0E1(455-0531) Sunday, January 20, 2013, 4-8pm. Memorial service will be held in St. Joseph’s Church in Shad Bay, Monday January 21 at 11am, Father Duncan MacMaster officiating, burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the MS Society. To view or place an online message of condolence, please visit www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
