MORRISEY, Deborah Lynn – 60, of Halifax, passed away July 6, 2010 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Roy and Marguerite Thorne. Deborah was a volunteer and fundraiser for many groups including AIDS Nova Scotia, Board of Governors Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Halifax Dance Association (developer and fundraiser), fundraiser for IWK Auxiliary, Scotia Festival of Music, and also for Hip Hip Horray. She was the Owner and Operator of Gallery 1667 Ltd., and first President of Bedford Torrington Residents Association. Deborah had a great love for life and people. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Morrisey of 35 years; sister, Karen (George Forsyth), brothers; Wayne (Joanne Marriott), Roy, of Hamilton, Ont., and David (Angela Fralick); and 12 nieces and nephews. Deborah is predeceased by her father, Roy Albert Thorne; mother, Marguerite (MacDonald) Thorne; father-in-law, Lloyd Arthur Morrisey; mother-in-law, Verna Eve (Pearce) Morrisey; and nephew, Michael Forsyth. Cremation has taken place. A reception is to be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax from 7-8pm, Monday July 12th.
