Always ready for adventure, Cheryl enjoyed travelling the world, painting, dancing, and spending quality time with friends over coffee. A kind and nurturing woman, she always knew what to say or do, no matter the situation. Her compassion for others was evident in her work as a professor of Early Childhood Education in Montreal, a career that brought her great fulfillment.
Cheryl married the love of her life, Barry Alan Gamberg, to whom she was married for 49 years. It was the kind of marriage many wish for, but rarely find. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Barry; children Jill, Susan, Laurie and Sara, along with their respective partners York, Riccardo, Joe and Matt; her five beautiful grandchildren who adored her as much as she adored them; as well as her many wonderful friends.
An energetic and joyful soul, she is leaving behind a void that will never be filled.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 4, at the Cruickshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you bring your favourite pictures or stories of Cheryl, or make a donation to the charity of your choice.
