Age 58 of Dartmouth.
It is with broken hearts and loving memories we announce the sudden passing of a much loved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. Catherine (Cathy) Patricia Baxter (Burns), 58, on Aug. 30, 2017 in the CCU of the Halifax Infirmary. Cathy was the proudest mother in the world of her only child Jarrett, who was always there for her. As a loving and completely devoted wife to Glenn, you rarely ever saw one without the other, virtually inseparable even after 32 years of love, respect and admiration to each other. Although Cathy suffered physical pain daily due to a work place accident 30 years ago, she persevered and carried on the best she could and unselfishly gave of herself. Along with Glenn and Jarrett, Cathy will be greatly missed and forever loved by her father, James Burns (Jean); sister, Gloria Doyle (James); and her soon to be daughter-in-law, Emma Lee Bligh; as well as several nieces and nephews. Cathy was predeceased by her ever loved mother, Katherine (Kay) Burns. On behalf of myself, my son and his fiancé, we would like to acknowledge, with all our heart felt thanks, everyone’s prayers, care, compassion and genuine condolences. To the teams of paramedics, Hfx. Regional Fire, QEII ER, cardiac cath lab and the angels of 6.4 CCU, a simple ‘Thank You’ can not come anywhere near our respect and eternal gratitude. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Cruickshank’s Funeral Home, from where visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3 from 2:00-5:00pm. Celebration and remembrance of a beautiful life will take place Monday, September 4 at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel, Uncle Rev. Carson Baxter officiating. Internment will take place at a later date.
