It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Carol grew up in Herring Cove. While employed at the Maritime Telegraph & Telephone Company, she met and married her husband of 53 years, Harley Elbert Sanford. They build a home in Herring Cove and raised their family. Carol loved her two children and cherished her four grandchildren. She lived for her family and friends. Carol forged lifelong friendships with those she met while working for the Halifax Infirmary QEII, volunteering in her community and most recently, working with Ambassatours. We are all at a loss with her sudden passing. Survived by her husband, Harley Elbert Sanford; daughter, Jillian (Ian) Sibbald, Rossland, B.C.; son, Michael (Sara) Sanford, Halifax; granchildren, Claire and Andrew Sibbald, Tomas and Alexandria Sanford; sisters, Jean Malloy, Halifax; and Ruth (Nick) Garapick, Wolfville; brother-in-law, Leslie (Eleanor) Sanford, Yarmouth; stepsister-in-law, Linda (Andy) Cann, Wolfville; Many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Eva and Claude Darrach. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been entrusted to JA Snow Funeral Home.
