Betty retired from Maritime Tel & Tel in 1991 after 35 years of service. She enjoyed collecting antiques, needlework, reading, cooking, and spending time with her friends. Betty loved all animals especially her Yorkies. She held many positions at her beloved St Matthias and worked hard to keep the doors opened. Betty was a very thoughtful, kind and loving person and she will be missed. Survived by her only sister, Gloria M. Veinotte; nephews, Roger (Carolyn), Stephen (Jane), David (Michelle), Eric (Paula) and their families. Predeceased by her parents, brother-in-law, Sherman, and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Monday, February 10, 2014, at 2:00 pm followed by a reception. Rev. Kyle Wagner officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, lower Sackville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank all those who helped Betty and her family through this very difficult time, especially Ginger Dunphy, Karen Cooper, Jane Stewart, Audrey Wiseman, and Karen Nauffes.
