Bernice Doucette

DOUCETTE, Louise “Bernice” (Pothier) – 93, of Halifax passed away Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre surrounded by her family. Born in Wedgeport, N.S. February 21st, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Louie and Lucie Pothier. Bernice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and friend. She lived her faith as a member of St. Theresa’s Church and was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League. She loved playing cards and was an avid bridge player who enjoyed many times with her friends. Bernice is survived by sons George (Barb), Russell, Joseph (Susan), Gerard (Judy), all of Halifax/ Dartmouth; grandchildren Jeffrey (Hyun Jung), Paul, Stephen, Michael, Scott, Blair Parker (Tina), and Craig Parker (Terri); great-grandchildren Molly, Megan, Kyle, Jayden, and Marshal. Bernice was predeceased by husband George Jerome, brothers Raphael, Jean Donald, twins Jean Anselme, Francois Marin, and sister Ethel. Vistitation will be held Sunday, December 12th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 13th at 10:30 am at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, North Street, Halifax. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to charity of your choice.
