Barry Vincent Joseph Reilly, born in Halifax April 27, 1950, age 74, passed away at the Victoria General Hospital after a tough battle Friday, June 14, 2024. He was the son of William and Laura Reilly (née Myatt), and survived by his loving daughter Tina Reilly of Halifax, step son Tim Hollis, his grandchildren (Bethany, Jade, Bailey, Seamus, Kaitlynn, Ashley, Charles, Emily, and Evelyn), and great-grandchildren (Shi-Ann and Zoey), his 3 sisters (Sharon, Patricia and Ann), and twin brothers (Darrell and Dennis).
Barry was employed for 32 and a half years with the government as an Agent 1 - Employment and Immigration Officer and was a long-time member of the CEIU and the PSAC unions. He frequented the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 142 in Fairview where he loved to be social and play crib. He also enjoyed the Spencer House Senior Centre where he made friends and enjoyed company. He loved baseball and hockey. They were his passions. The Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs were the teams he rooted for whole-heartedly. No matter what room you were in you could hear him yell "Score!". He has his photo with the 1991 Senior Men's Hockey Allan Cup Champions, the Charlottetown Islanders, hanging in the Hockey Hall of Fame for working with the management team. He was quite proud and wore his cup ring all the time. He was a loving father and grandfather and he will be missed very much.
Visitation Friday, June 21 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home in Halifax. Funeral Service to be held at Saint Michael's church in Spryfield on Wednesday June 26 at 1pm.
