Barbara Ann MacInnis Murray

Murray, Barbara Ann MacInnis, 65 – Barbara died peacefully at home December 19, 2013 in the company of friends and family. Born in Cape Breton, she is the daughter of the late John Hugh and Margaret (Burke) MacInnis. Retired from Air Canada, she was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed traveling and relaxing on the beach. Barb was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was a great friend to all especially her former husband, Brian; long-time friends Bertha and Marlene and the golfing girls from Ashburn. She is survived by her loving niece Kari (Ryan), Cole Harbour; brothers Burke (Reta), Colindale; Greg (Pauline), West Mabou/Florida; and Peter James (Margaret,)West Mabou; sisters Mary Ann Pelham, Halifax; Rita (Vince) Warcop, West Mabou; and Elaine(Freddy), Halifax. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother John William and his wife Karen MacInnis and brother in law David Pelham. The family would like to thank the VONs for their special care and attention. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22nd, 2013 from 7-9pm at JA Snows Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax NS and Monday, December 23rd from 7-9pm at St. Mary’s Parish, Mabou, NS with funeral services Tuesday December 24th, 2013 at St. Mary’s Parish 11am with Father Angus Morris officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. In Lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
