Hi Papa, I really miss you. Mommy tells me about you all the time. She’s sad that you’re not here anymore. I see her crying and try to wipe away her tears and hug her tight. I know you didn’t want to leave us so soon.  You loved me so much, mommy tells me so.  She tells me how I use to wake you up by slapping you in the face; it was probably just payback for making me take my naps.  I know Aria won’t get the chance to physically know you but I know mommy will make sure that we both know how amazing you were.  I know you’re watching over us and keeping us safe. I’ll make sure to take care of Mommy, Grandma, Fluffy and Dum. I love you so much and I can’t wait until we see each other again so I can make you catch me. -Cannon

I can’t believe you are gone.  My best friend in high school dated you for many years, so you (Ty, as I will always know you) were a huge influence on my growing up.  I was the third wheel. Everything I know about classic cars, Bruce Springsteen, hanging out and drinking beer, cruising in the city, how to play pool, treating police officers with respect, how to avoid Pledged seats (and what they were used for), how to successfully weave in-and-out of traffic, that bowling alleys didn’t card, and a multitude of other things, I learned from you.  You were a rock, with an imposing exterior but a heart of gold.  Although we lost touch over the years, I thought of you every time I saw any 60’s muscle car (especially an Impala), and always will.  Rest in peace, Ty.  You were taken too soon.  My deepest condolences to your family.

Trying to explain a story about you, too hard to be done since I have 25 years of stories for me to explain. 
Trying to explain how I miss you or how I feel is hard to happen because that’s something that I can’t put into words, but I can try. 

You pushed me to be my best and always give or do more, “ throw some dirt on it and keep going,” you would say when I got hurt. 
Hearing “Shawna’s home” from the old man on the corner of the couch in the living room won’t happen. The “see you Thursday’s” won’t happen.  The “Omg’s” and eye rolls with the slowly getting off the couch to kill the spider for me won’t happen (even though I was capable of doing it myself.) 
I think of the great and awesome things you did for us growing up, the see-saw you built, the box hockey game you built and brought home from work, the endless years of making sure the pool was working, always getting up and starting the lawn mower for us, starting fires for us outside( even after you told us we had to do it ourselves). These are only a very few things you did to make us happy. 

You may not be there to walk me down the isle physically but I know you’ll be there. I made sure we had our dance in the hospital, ‘I loved her first’ will play on the  day that I marry Jordan. 
Even though you may not be here for all these different things your memory will live on with each and every one of us. I will make sure Cannon and Aria know everything that you taught me. They will know how amazing their Grandpa is. 

I love and miss you so much. Nothing can ever replace the love of a father.  Don’t worry I’ll see you Thursday (;

 For teaching how to make sure everyone in my life is okay before I am. 
 For teaching me “how to survive in the wilderness”

All I ever wanted was to make sure you made it to see me walk the stage at my high school graduation because you and I both hated school. 

I’ll make you proud with the rest of my life choices, I know you’ll be there with me. 
 Just know you taught me well. 
 I’ll take care of mom. 
 There will forever be a hole in my heart no matter what.

I remember going to my grandparents house and listening to The Ramones and Guns n Roses with Uncle Steve and Paul.  I remember how much it influenced my love for punk and rock.  My fondest memory was hanging at a block party and the boom box was playing a Guns N’ Roses- Appetite for Destruction.
