peacefully Sunday morning, May 10, 2015,
surrounded by his family. Bob fought an
incredible battle with cancer for the past four
years, never losing his smile or sense of
humor. Bob , affectionately known as "Butch"
to family and friends, was born April 13,
1942, in Waukegan, IL, where he spent many
summer nights by the "crick" stirring up
neighborhood trouble and developing a true
love for his hometown. Bob's heart lived in
Northern Wisconsin though where he built a
cabin from ground up and spent wonderful
summers fishing on good ole' Birch Lake.
Bob first worked for US Steel in Waukegan,
IL, which he held as the "best job of his life"
and developed lifelong friendships. He
married his best friend, Joanne Glemboski on
May 31, 1986, at St. Anastasia Church. The
two enjoyed precious years of laughter and
togetherness, truly becoming one. Bob was a
perfect father to his girls - their most devoted
fan at sporting events and reliable shoulder
to lean on.
Bob was the best "good" man around, as
he had wanted to be remembered. He lived
simply with a genuine love for people and
their own histories. His compassion for
friends, family and strangers was obvious
from his selfless life. There wasn't a driveway
he wouldn't shovel or a story too long to
listen to. He lived wholly with a true
appreciation for nature and value for family.
He adored his wife, treasured his daughters
and preserved the memories of his late
parents and brother. Bob enjoyed photographing
beautiful scenery, cooking to feed
an army, gardening until dusk and antiquing
with his wife.
Bob is preceded in death by his father and
mother, Otto and Lillian Heiser; and brother,
Thomas Heiser (Georgette).
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Heiser;
daughters, Jennifer Delfeld (Paul) and Nicole
Heiser; granddaughter, Sloan Delfeld; and
loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
His family expects he's back at Birch Lake,
reeling in the biggest catch of his life in
complete comfort.
