Pythias C. Tomon, also known as Phity, age 46, of Zion passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Phity was born on June 21, 1976 in the Philippines to Deolito Tomon and Lalina Camacho. He attended schools in the Philippines and graduated from high school and college obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing. Phity married the love of his life, Marites Domingo on February 3, 2003 in the Philippines. He immigrated to the United States in 2005. Phity began his career here in the States as a nurse working for multiple nursing homes in the area, including: Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan, Pavilion of Waukegan and at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. He was a member of the MCGI (Members Church of God International) and the National Nurses United. Phity loves photography and videography. He also enjoyed DIY home improvements and fishing. He was known as a “Jack of all trades” because he loved watching YouTube videos, which is why his family and friends used to say he received his second degree from “YouTube University”. He most enjoyed being with his family.
He was preceded in death by, his mother.
Phity is survived by, his wife, Marites; four children, Aj, Abigail, Sarah and Samuel; his father, Deolito; four siblings, Irish, Jonalyn, Junelito and Shyrl as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Marsh Funeral Home (305 N. Cemetery Road) on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. A funeral service for Phity will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. A comital service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phity’s memory may be made to his family for his children.
