Dear Fred, Vicki and all Jim's Family,

Phil and I want to extend our sympathy to all your family in the loss of Jim.  We didn't know Jim as an adult but, do know, that he had to be a wonderful man.  I say this because the entire Carney family are great people.  I was raised in St. Pat's and my parents, Roman and LaVerne Bohn, were very active in the parish, as were the Carney's.  Vicki, I remember you coming into Gurnee Grade School with Jim when he was just a little guy.  Fred, I think that you and my baby brother, Tom, were friends way back when too.  Well, in having said all of that, both Phil and I want to extend our deepest sympathies to your entire family.  Fondly, Kay (Bohn, James) and Phil Vick.

Mike and Me will always remember Jimmy with his sweet smile and kind heart. I think that the times I saw him out in the hay field on the tractor and he found that more fun than work. All of the family will be in our prayers and thoughts.

Jim Carney, from the time we met you as a toddler, to the time we saw you grow and flourish, to the time from your early beginnings to becoming Lieutenant of the Fire Department we loved this little boy become man.   We laughed at your antics and your stories, and learned the wonderful relationship with your friends, and fellow firemen.  Your smile was just addictive.   We will miss you in our lives.  We will miss your candor and that big old great heart of yours.  Your children will know what a great father you were and they can remain proud of you forever.
