Heather was adopted into a loving family at the age of 10 and raised with 8 siblings in Northfield, IL. She attended Christian Liberty High School in IL. She met her husband, Jason, in Northfield, IL and they were married in 2001 in the wedding of Heather’s dreams including a princess style wedding dress and white horse-drawn carriage. She and Jason bought a house in Gurnee and Heather completed the first portion of her EMT certificate and was planning to work towards her paramedic license when she and Jason found out the wonderful news that she was pregnant with her daughter, Emilia, who was born in 2004. In 2005, Benjamin (Benny) was born. Heather loved being a mother! When she did return to work, she worked as medical office staff in several offices over the years and enjoyed her work and her relationships with coworkers and doctors. She was a fan of very spicy foods, cool cars, horror movies, and roller coasters and was a phenomenal cook. She loved all varieties of animals and adopted many pets through the years. She was a devoted wife and mother supporting Emilia and Benny in everything they did as their biggest advocate and cheerleader. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her mother Diane (DeFalco) Maleski of Kissimmee, FL; husband, Jason; her children Emilia and Benjamin; siblings including Melody Chote of Nevada, Chris Barlow of Oklahoma, Mark Barlow (Kelly) of Indiana, Amy Barlow of Wisconsin, Paul Maleski of Texas, Jason Maleski of Chicago, Susan Cortina (Louis) of Illinois, as well as numerous foster siblings and nephews and nieces who were all recipients of her special love and care.
