Elizabeth Ann Kopochis

Elizabeth A. Kopochis (Burns), age 66, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Elizabeth, better known as Liz, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family and dogs. Liz passed away almost two years to the day following her beloved husband's death. Liz's ashes will be spread in the ocean with her husband's, whose ashes are also in the Pacific. Liz and her husband had three children, for whom she lived. She was a nurse for over 40 years, serving 25 of those years at Seasons Hospice where she made many friends.

Liz is survived by her sons, Kevin and Jason; her daughter, Meghan (Arthur) Amelio; her mother, Wanda Burns; her sisters, Kathleen Burns and Maureen (Greg) Bosco; her brothers, Bryan (Jacqui) Burns and John Burns; and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and her lifelong friends, Kathy Lagerstrom, Sue Tuminello, and Debbie Wolfe. She will also be greatly missed by her furry friends: Charlie, Brady, Nal a, Rizzo, and Mia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her father, John Burns; and her sister, Peggy Burns

A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031.
