Cathy, I just learned of Doug's passing this morning. He was a great friend to me during our years in Rota. I especially remember how deeply happy he was when he got together with you.  My condolences to you and your family and to all those who loved Doug. Gosh, he was such a good friend! 

I just read of Doug's passing in the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine.  I have many happy memories of Doug at the Hillel, in all of his various phases of his faith.  My fondest memory is probably at the end of my sophomore summer when I traveled to NYC with Doug and stayed with his parents for a couple of days, waiting to meet my parents who were bringing my brother up to start at Columbia. We had a ball tooling around the city.  I last saw Doug probably not long before he joined the Navy (which I did not know of) when I ran into him on a Shabbat in Baltimore.

I am so sad to learn of my friend's sudden passing.  We have not been in touch for several decades, but I always remember Doug as my oldest friend.  I can still bring to mind spending time time with him after school, even when we were students in kindergarten.  Mrs. Tillman used to make us tuna sandwiches!

Doug had an enormous enthusiasm for life and  a curiosity that was just beyond measure.  He was blessed with so many great talents.  I really admired him.

I had not been in touch with Doug in many decades. But I have such good memories of our time in grade school and high school. He was kind, funny, sweet, smart, and a real friend. My heart goes out to Carol, Ray, and Debbie and your whole family. My deepest condolences. I know how much he loved, and was loved. 

I worked with Doug for the past couple of years. Doug always went out of his way to listen to me and understand my perspective. He valued collaboration and quality.

Doug was keen to better understand Australianisms and we had many a good chat and laugh when I would say something typically Aussie and he would note it down to ask me about later. He managed to build up his Aussie vocabulary quite substantially!

Though Doug never made it to Australia to meet up with his Australian colleagues, we all felt like we knew him well. His drive and enthusiasm will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all 

First the smile, then the laugh that’s what I will always remember about Doug.  Yes, he also had a wonderful mind along with a great heart that was filled with genuine compassion for others.  But he loved to have fun and laugh and that is what I choose to remember  most.  We were close childhood friends who meandered on our own path and I’m really sorry we won’t have the opportunity to share more moments, but the ones we did have as kids were filled with fun.  My heart goes out to his parents, Carol and Ray who were both so great to me as a kid and his sister Deb who is fantastic and I know as a good friend of my sister Susan is understandably really hurting.  To Cathy, Mitchell, Chelsea and Yosef, so sorry, you lost someone so special snd deep condolences to all of you.  Please know I can confidently say that anyone who ever really knew Doug at whatever stage of his life, was truly blessed to know him and holds him close to their heart thinking of that big smile and infectious body shaking laugh!  He will be missed!  Rest In Peace and Power my old friend!

I’m part of Doug’s Oracle work family. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful teammate, leader, facilitator and friend. He will be missed by so many and especially me. I hope your precious memories bring you comfort. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. 
We were working through a challenge and getting a plan formulated.  It was after my birthday and I complimented him on working so well with me through it. He said Cathy is an Aries and he’s  had a long time to hone those skills. We laughed

To the Tillman family, 
I was so saddened to hear of Doug’s untimely death, it’s hard to comprehend.  While I haven’t had contact with Doug in many decades, I do know that he touched so many lives in meaningful ways, surely he touched mine.
  
Doug was an important part of my years growing up in Ardsley – we were good friends throughout all of our school years.  I have such fond memories of spending time with Doug, being in classes and shows with Doug, and being at the Tillman home in Hartsdale.  He had a contagious smile, incredible intellect and curiosity, and he had quite the wit!  This picture (while not of great quality) is from our High School graduation in 1981.  

May his memory be a blessing.   


My soul is crushed for Carol, Ray, Debbie, and Doug's entire family. We don't really know why these horrible things happen; even worse because Doug's life-force compelled him to know and learn about anything and everything. His boundless intellect, wrapped in an infectious smile, was eclipsed only by his unending curiosity to try every bite of life that captured his wide and wild imagination. As teens, Doug and I backpacked the entire state of Vermont, the shenanigans and life-altering moments of which are etched into my soles and soul. Though we did not stay close as adults, I loved Doug. It was impossible not to. Rest in peace, my good friend, you've scratched all the itches. 

Doug was such a well liked and respected colleague at Textura and Oracle, and seemed to always find a way to be successful at any role thrown at him.  I had the pleasure of working with him for most of the past decade and can’t think of a single time he was ever anything but great.  I will miss talking about the east coast with him, the calm and patience he brought when he was working on extremely complex projects, talking about the shows we were currently binge-ing, and hearing him talk about his family.  Thank you to his family for sharing him with us.  My condolences to you all. 

Doug and I were on the tennis team and in drama club together. We co-starred  in the Hobbit. He was Bilbo and I was Gollum. The first time we practiced our scene was magic. At the end, I dive across stage to get the ring and Doug eludes my grasp. Everyone burst into applause amd we just grinned at each other. I can remember it like yesterday.  I have the photo from our scene and treasure the memory.

We have not seen you and yours for many many years. Doug’s obituary is impressive but so sad at his too early departure . As you know, we only knew him as a young child , at a time when we never could have imagined how our children would evolve. You must be so proud! Doug was an amazing colleague and partner at Oracle.  He was a man of his word and it gave me great confidence whenever he took on an initiative.  I will miss him terribly.

I went to Ardsley schools with Doug and to Woodlands Temple.  When I think of Doug, this is what I remember:  We were in middle school or maybe 9th grade. It was Valentine’s Day and my father got flowers for my mother and sister but not for me.  (I tended to be a little unconventional and he didn’t think I’d care.) I was hurt, which I shared with my friends, enjoying a little righteous outrage. The next day, my doorbell rang and it was Doug, holding a single red rose.  I was so touched and surprised. But of all our friends, it made sense that Doug would be the one to respond to the hurt beneath the complaining.  He had a rich and full life since those days, but way too short.  My sincere condolences to all who loved him. May his memory be as a blessing. 

Doug hired me about 3 months ago. Right after I joined Oracle, I lost my beloved mother after a short illness. As a newcomer to Oracle, I was not sure what to expect but Doug was very supportive during the difficult time. He told me not to worry and assured me that my family comes first. I am forever grateful to him for that. It shows how good of a human being he was. 

For the short time I have known him, he also was a good mentor, a hard worker, a visionary, and a passionate leader. 

My condolences to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed. May his soul rest in peace.


Doug was as great a boss as he was a person. 

He was a mentor to myself and many others. Doug was passionate and determined in his work. He always radiated positivity and loved to crack a joke. I will forever cherish the conversations we had, both professional and personal.

I have known Doug for less than a year, after recently joining Oracle.  But I can say without a doubt, Doug was an absolutely critical and committed member of our team.  I am so so sorry for your loss and know all of us will miss his calm, professional and approachable style that made him so great to work with. I have so many great memories of Doug and our friendship growing up together in Ardsley.  May his memory be a blessing.

Doug interviewed me 14 years ago and I've worked with him in some capacity every since.  We shared recipes and cooking tips with each other.  Doug shared his parenting milestones with me and was so proud of his children.  He gave me advice when I had my daughter.  He will be remembered for how much he touched everyone's lives.    Though I can't be present for the service, Doug and your entire family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I also worked with Doug at Oracle. Among the many memories I will keep with me, the one thing that stands out is the way he treated everyone the same way — with respect. He contributed in big ways and was passionate about bringing people together and making things better. I will miss being able to reach out to him for his thoughts. I want to offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends. We will miss you Doug.

I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to Doug's family and friends. I worked with Doug at Textura/ Oracle for many years.  He was always smart, strategic, and most of all friendly.  Doug was involved in many projects but always had a way of making you feel as if your issue was a priority to him.

Doug was great at his job and extremely valuable to Oracle.  Doug led by example.  He had great integrity, work ethic, commitment and drive to deliver.  He drove many important initiatives and I will always treasure the time that I got to work with him.  He was definitely an inspiration to me and helped me grow in both my job and in my personal life.  I will miss everything about working with Doug and feel very lucky that I had the time with him that I did.  He was able to leave a mark on me personally and on Oracle (CEGBU) as an organization.  I am so sorry for your loss.
