Grandpa💕 (Part 2)
Also, while we were out there, he would look out for his cardinal, he said it was his buddy. So now every time I see a cardinal I think of him. Now, I talked about just about everything but him being warm. I could honestly go on and on about how nice he was and warm he was to me and just about everyone. A few examples I could mention is him always making sure he’s at the door every Friday that I came, even when he could not make it down the stairs, he was at least at the top waiting! Another time, is when I was going through a tough time and he noticed! He did not let it go until I told him and he tried his best to give me any advice he had. Another one being, him always showing his gratitude or appreciation towards me, he would always say thank you even when I told him he didn’t have too. Lastly, the one that will always stick with me is him telling me he loved me and made sure before I go that we would either hug or he would grab my hand and give a slight squeeze to say goodbye. I’m really going to miss him. I think of him everyday.
Like someone once told me, he was like having a dad but better!!💕

Grandpa💕(part 1)
What do I think of when I think of Art? I think of the very definition of your all time favorite grandpa! He’s funny, he’s sweet, he’s competitive, he’s honest, he’s warm, a great listener. although everyone may know him as a veteran or a very successful golfer, or even a great father, I got to know him as just simply who he was. He could just be himself with me, and I loved it! We watched movies together, we talked about everything together, even planned on having a spaghetti competition. I really looked forward to that competition, especially since he was Italian, and simply because of our share love for cooking. He always talked about his spaghetti gravy, and how delicious it was, and how his daughter even told him to sell it at one time! Even though we never got to share that experience, I will always remember every morning, making his two scrambled eggs with his two slices of cheese! boy, did he love that cheese! Not only that we would talk about everything. He would ask about my kids and always reassure me that I’m doing a great job, and I will always ask about his daughters or his favorite person in the whole world! ( His grand-dog) she is just the sweetest dog and he always looked forward to seeing her. Going back to talking about everything, I would always come to him for advice on multiple things just as he would come to me. He never sugarcoated anything, he was always honest and straightforward and that right there was amazing! We also had this thing together when it was time for me to trim his beard he asked if he looks scruffy enough or like a wolf yet! He was always so funny! We would watch the news and always wonder (the cooking part) who would wash all of those dishes!? Another thing we would do if it was warm out, is sit out on the porch and watch the birds. He always joked about how white his legs were and that he wanted to put some color to them like my complexion! So funny! Also, while we were out there, he would look…

Will always treasure the memory of the Great Thanksgiving Whipped Cream War, his impeccable talent to “distribute” mashed potatoes, and his passion and strategy with the “dice game” at Christmas. He may be gone but the memories will live forever.
