It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Michael McGarry, who departed this life on October 9, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on January 11, 1949, Pat was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Judy Goods Overland and Mona (David Phillips), and his brother Terry. Pat was a cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever hold dear the memories they created with him. He will also be remembered fondly by his extended family and friends.
Pat was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Peter Goods and Gord Overland; his sister-in-law, Ann Marie McGarry; and his parents, Jean and Fred McGarry.
A quiet man with a generous spirit, Pat was always ready to lend a helping hand. His love for sports began in his youth, where he excelled in biking, swimming, baseball, hockey, and fishing. This passion carried into adulthood, making him a dedicated superfan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadiens.
Pat was a caring and devoted uncle, always present at birthday parties and family gatherings until his health declined. His warmth and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Riverside Glen and Guelph General Hospital for their compassionate care, as well as Father Boyd for his unwavering support during this time.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home – Dublin Chapel. Cremation has taken place, and a graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, October 26, at 10:30 AM at Marymount Cemetery.
In honor of Pat's memory, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating his life.
