Yelf, Patricia (Pat) Anne (Oct. 2, 1942 – Feb. 23, 2012) Pat passed away at McNally House in Grimsby with her family close beside her. Pat will be dearly missed by her sister Margaret Hipkin (Ken). She will also be dearly missed by, and was a special aunt to, Maja Hipkin, Sandra Clark (Aaron and her great-niece Taylor) and Leslie Hutchinson (Dan and her great-nephews Matthew and Joshua). Pat was the daughter of the late Vernon and Grace Yelf. Pat treasured her special friends and colleagues; she appreciated their contact and concern - particularly in her last days. After her retirement from the University of Guelph, Pat was a devoted volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics, Meals-on-Wheels and then a volunteer driver with the Canadian Cancer Society. Pat was extremely proud of helping cancer patients safely reach their distant appointments in London, Toronto and Hamilton for 25 years for which she recently received the 25-year award. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception with Pat’s friends and family.
