Monique, at age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 following a long battle with cancer. Never giving up, never losing hope. Monique spent her final days with her daughter, grandkids and great-grandkids, smiling till the end.
Monique loved and was deeply loved by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Langis; mother of Joanne Fennell and the late Lise Koenig-Langis; proud grandmama to Alexandra, Marc, Nicole, Lindsay and Laura; and great-grandmama to David, Aria, Scarlet and Bennett.
Monique loved playing pranks, especially on April fools. She loved playing euchre and winning at all costs, even if it meant that we all suspected her of cheating. She loved seeing her “gym friends”, we still don’t think they ever worked out but they did go for coffee and brunch. She loved reminiscing of the old days with her friends in the French Club. Her biggest passions were knitting, gardening and feeding the birds. Most recently, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her great-grandchildren, watching them laugh and play.
Cremation has taken place. Please join us for a Celebration of Life at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Wednesday, October 17 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held beforehand from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Memorial donations made to the Lisaard House in Cambridge would be appreciated. Their attentiveness, compassion and care was unsurpassed. Monique felt like she was at home, especially when she was in the sun room surround by flowers, plants, nature and family.
