Kay was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. With her beloved husband of 62 years, the late Silvio Artuso (2018) they made Guelph their home and raised 4 children. Gabriel (Helen), Paul (deceased 1992), Ann (Paul) Childerhose and Gerard (Diana). She was blessed to have eight grandchildren: Aaron (Kate), Allie, Ryan (Vanessa), Katie (Cris), Laura (Luay), Anton (Fawn), Scott (Emily) and Erik and 10 great-grandchildren: Alivia, Jaxon, James, Callie, Alexander, Harrison, Ava, Amira, Rosa and Hazel.
Kay, eldest of 10 children is predeceased by her parents, Margaret and John Dan Heffernan, her siblings John, Frank, Leo, Roddy, Donald, and Carmen. She is survived by her siblings Patsy (late John) Wallace, Marian (Joe) Neary, and Bernie (Brenda) Heffernan, all of Nova Scotia. Kay will be sadly missed by brothers and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews and many more family, friends and neighbours.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 6 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7 at 10:30 am, at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph. Father Boyd officiating. Interment at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6 North, Guelph. All are welcome to join a reception after the interment.
