In loving memory of Carol Joan Gordon, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and a dedicated teacher, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the age of 81 at Guelph General Hospital after a courageous battle with renal disease. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, and later resided in Erin, Ontario.
Throughout her life, Carol was a beacon of love and strength for her family. She was the loving wife of the late William (Bill) Gordon and a devoted mother to her children, Sean (Jackie), Shannon (Paul), and Shayne (Sara). She adored her grandchildren, Derrick, Ashley, Scott, Madison, and Ryley, showering them with affection and wisdom. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frank Stevenson and Violet Crispin, but their memories lived on in her heart.
Carol's passion for education shone through her dedicated teaching career of over 40 years, with the majority of her time spent at her beloved St. John Brebeuf. She left a profound impact on the lives of her students and colleagues, leaving behind a legacy of knowledge and inspiration.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Carol actively participated in the community of Erin, where she volunteered tirelessly. Her selflessness and contributions were recognized with the Shamrock Award of Merit, a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Grand River Renal Program in Guelph, along with Dr. Burke and his dedicated renal team, for their exceptional care during Carol's health journey.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph (519-821-5077). Family invite friends for a Memorial Visitation on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home's Hart Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00am with Father Vernon Boyd officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Fellowship Lounge.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Grand River Hospital Foundation-Peritoneal Dialysis Program. The staff held a special place in Carol's heart, and contributions will help continue her legacy of support and compassion for those in need.
